What do you cook?

I think my dear friend and favorite blogger, the motherboard (from her blog crazyland), is sending people to comment on my last posting so I will feel like I can move on, since it has been so long since I posted anything. : ]  (Thanks for all your comments dear blogging friends!)  I'm trying to write this with an eye migraine.  I don't get a headache with it, just a flashing squiggly disturbance in my vision that takes 20 minutes to disappear.  So that no one worries- I've talked to the Doctor about it and had my eyes checked in the past and It is okay.  And thanks to drummer boy who used the computer right before me in a wet swimsuit without warning me; my bum is now wet.  Anyway I just wanted to say that I actually enjoyed making dinner last night!  It is a big deal because I hadn't wanted to make it for a while.  Cooking use to be one of my joys but now it is a chore and so I was thrilled to have fun cooking last night.  I made homemade mac and cheese.  What do you like to cook when you don't want to cook???

I love to cook too. But sometimes its just a chore! Especially when the kids all see what you are cooking and moan... I always tell them. My name is not Cindy and this is not an all night diner!

What do I cook when I don't feel like cooking?

Hi you,
First off... of course we dread cooking...25 years, 2 to3 times a day, that's about 20,000 meals and a WHOLE lot of time in the kitchen! I can only wonder how many times we got thanked. The bright side is that our children have grown up healthy and FULL... and our husbands aren't as grumpy as they would of been if they were hungary.
I often wonder if I'll HAVE to cook in Heaven... how could that be without tears or sorrow??? At least there will be chocolate and thai food, right Colene?
I have a friend, when she doesnt know what to cook for dinner, she puts a cut onion in the oven just before her cranky husband walks in the door from work. She said it calms him everytime, thinking dinner is just around the corner for him.
The key to having dinner ideas is having food in the house to cook.... so women, get to Costco!
I've been making alot of soup and salads lately... then my standby... cold cereal, everyone HELP YOURSELVES!!!

This post makes me feel horribly guilty. When I don't feel like cooking... I don't. My poor family. I am a pretty good cook when I'm up for it, but with just the three of us, we often have "fend for yourself night" or take out Thai, etc. I truly admire women who just push through the lethargy and make dinner after dinner. This is one of the things I feel most guilt about in my life. But I do really want the recipe for mac and cheese. It's one of Brian's favorite meals and I'd love to try a new variety (on a night when I'm up for it, of course!!!)

when I do not want to cook, it is usually something from a fast food place (we love the gyros at tom and jerrys!!!) or I always have a package of frozen meatballs and buns....they make great sandwiches or with pasta.OR: frozen food (not that yummy, but works)

I always use my old standby...PASTA. I always have it on hand and my hubby and kids love it. Add a little salad and garlic bread and your done.
